Melbourne’s Green Room award nominations were announced on February 15, and Dirty Work Comedy’s Die Roten Punkte picked up two prestigious nominations in the cabaret genre. Otto and Astrid were shortlisted for Best Ensemble and Best Original Songs for the performance of their third album Kunst Rock.

Brand new inclusions to the DWC stable are the fabulous Die Roten Punkte, Berlin’s Prince and Princess of indie rock. Expect them to defend their crown as the “best band in the world” when they tour the United States in 2011/12.
Mike Birbiglia – Sydney Festival 2011

DWC and Sydney Festival presented Mike Birbiglia at this prestigious multi-arts festival, with his new show My Girlfriend’s Boyfriend. This was the only comedy show included in the festival which this year also features John Malkovich, Sufjan Stevens and German performance art troublemakers Gob Squad. All shows sold out.

List Operators for Kids awarded City of Melbourne funding

The List Operators for Kids are one of 20 Victoria companies to receive funding from the City of Melbourne to develop their new show The List Operators for Kids do Compooters: Wig-i-pedia! The finance will enable the duo to work with a range of artists including professional musicians and set designers to create their most theatrically ambitious show to date. The show will debut at the Adelaide Fringe then play at the Melbourne Comedy Festival over the Easter school holidays.
